The announcement of a new Delta Community College Campus in Ruston

Governor Edwards announced Louisiana will spend $8M to build a new Delta Community College campus in Ruston, that will anchor a technology park. This technology park will also include facilities for Louisiana Tech, Grambling State University, University of Louisiana-Monroe, and a building constructed by the city of Ruston to house high-tech robotics and manufacturing firms in its own Center of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.


Louisiana Delta Community College Advanced Technology Center

A formal groundbreaking was held for the $8.2M Louisiana Delta Community College Advanced Technology Center in Monroe, LA. The new 22,000 sq. ft. addition to the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) will include a community auditorium, economic development offices, incubation area, PTEC and workforce development areas, and general classroom and office spaces.  The project is anticipated to be completed by August 2019.


Delgado River City Site and Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center Ribbon Cutting

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held for the new Delgado River City Site and Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center located at the Churchill Technology & Business Park in Avondale.  The $27.3M 76,638 sq. ft. facility is expected to help equip residents with the type of technical skills needed to participate in the economic growth “transforming the Greater New Orleans region at a rapid pace,” including training in a range of industrial skills, including aluminum welding, industrial maintenance, pipefitting, safety training as well as courses in logistics, millwrighting, process instrumentation and control, and shielded metal arc welding.


The Northshore Technical Community College – Livingston Groundbreaking Ceremony

A Groundbreaking Ceremony was held for the first community college in Livingston Parish. It was a very well-attended event, with Chancellor William Wainwright giving special kudos to Brian Budd and the CSRS Team. The 15,000-square-foot  building is scheduled to be complete in time for Fall 2019 enrollment and will offer courses in manufacturing, welding, industrial electrical, information technology, and health science.


Baton Rouge Community College Automotive Collision Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

BRCC officials held a ceremony Wednesday to mark the opening of the nearly 26,000-square-foot facility which includes shop space with paint booths, automotive lifts, a car straightener, and welding booths. The collision training center will operate along with the Automotive Technology Center at BRCC, which has been taking in students for about a year and a half.


LCTCS held their 20th Anniversary Annual Conference

The CSRS Team participated in the LCTCS Conference on September 26th-28th. Ed Jenkins introduced Dr. Sullivan at the State of the System Address Luncheon and Tim Barfield did a great job MC’ing the Impact Awards!
