Rebuilding schools and restoring educational facilities across Calcasieu Parish.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Laura in 2020, the Calcasieu Parish School Board (CPSB) faced extensive damage to nearly every school campus throughout the parish. To address this urgent need, CSRS was selected through emergency procurement to establish and launch the School Board's recovery program rapidly. Following the emergency period, CPSB initiated standard procurement protocols for disaster recovery assistance. CPSB awarded CSRS with a long-term contract to continue supporting the recovery effort.
CSRS assembled a team of qualified architects, engineers, and project managers to conduct comprehensive damage assessments of impacted school facilities. These assessments were the foundation for developing FEMA Project Worksheets, ensuring accurate documentation, and securing funding to restore CPSB's disaster-damaged assets.
As a key partner in CPSB's recovery program, CSRS provides project management expertise throughout the design, bidding, and construction phases. The program involves managing 136 individual repair and replacement projects and coordinating the efforts of 14 design firms to restore and rebuild school facilities across the parish.
