The Calcasieu Parish Transportation Initiative is a comprehensive transportation improvement program to environmentally permit, design, and construct transportation improvements on five (5) designated state routes within Calcasieu Parish. Improvements consist of mobility improvements such as intersection improvements, signal upgrades, and a new bridge over the West Fork of the Calcasieu River. The current estimated total for all program activities is $174 million.


FIRM PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES

As the program manager appointed by Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, CSRS has completed program development consisting of the development of program processes and procedures, engineering standards and specifications, standards for right-of-way acquisition, cost estimating, program budgets, consultant RFQ and selection process, as well as, inter-agency coordination, stakeholder and public outreach, and community awareness activities. CSRS will manage the projects to conformance with LADOTD and FHWA guidelines to maximize eligibility for state and federal assistance including following NEPA, Uniform Relocation Act, and following an approved consultant selection criteria process.


CSRS is currently responsible for the program management, monitoring, and control of design and construction activities which will include the execution of the overarching management strategy via program financial oversight and schedule control, environmental, traffic, and design consultant coordination and review, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation, construction administration, and public involvement.


PROJECT KEY SUCCESS

CSRS has helped Calcasieu Parish Police Jury identify ways to expedite the traditional design and contract processes using its vast knowledge and success from previous and on-going Road Program Management Contracts.
