CSRS Teaches Pro-bono Workshop on Resiliency

Recently— CSRS’ Mark Goodson, Resilience Practice Lead, and David Lessinger, Greater New Orleans Market Lead, taught a pro-bono workshop in St. Bernard Parish. The workshop focused on building a financial implementation strategy that could be used to develop a water management project for the parish.

The Meraux Foundation and GNO, Inc are hosting a series of workshops for St. Bernard Parish officials and stakeholders to develop a strategy for financing and developing water management projects that reduce flood risk and environmental impact while advancing economic development within the parish.

“Communities generally know the outcome they want, they just need help getting there,” said Goodson. “It’s our job to create a plan for a community that enables them to adapt to changing conditions and thrive.”

GNO Inc. asked CSRS to help design and facilitate this workshop due to its performance in the National Disaster Resilience Competition in 2016.
